Black Widow is now in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access. It’s been a long wait for not only Black Widow but an MCU film. We had a few things we didn’t love about it but overall it is another solid Marvel film that continues to push forward Phase 4 despite being set in the past.
This is your spoiler warning if you haven’t seen Black Widow.
Despite the one reveal we weren’t totally excited about, Black Widow is the movie fans have been waiting for since Natasha was introduced in Iron Man 2. It is a spy-thriller with plenty of action and that classic Marvel humor. It also featured many callbacks to previous MCU films and Marvel comics. Which obviously made us super happy.
We know you want to know, what didn’t we love? Aren’t you two Marvel fangirls ’til the end of the line? Yes, we are but that doesn’t me we love every choice they made. *cough* Natalie Portman *cough*
Let’s rip the bandaid off. Taskmaster. This version of Taskmaster wasn’t what we were looking for. In fact, she could’ve been left out of the movie and things still would have made sense. However, after reading an interview with the writer for Black Widow, we understand why the choice was made.
Moving fast that, there was plenty to love about the film, especially getting more Natasha. That’s always a win. Black Widow introduces us to her complicated past and family. The bonus of course is Yelena, who will be the new Black Widow going forward in Phase 4. Love her even if she isn’t one for poses.
David Harbour’s Alexei was also a scene-stealer and hopefully will show up in the future. Kevin Feige seems on board to see him return so fingers crossed.
Loki Episode 5 was a game-changer for our Loki and opened a door of other Lokis that we hope to see more of in the future. Kid Loki is a Young Avenger after all and Alligator Loki is perfection. In the finale of season 1, Loki and Sylvie confront the man behind the curtain and we get some nice validation for a theory. But as the credits roll, the future of the MCU is absolute madness. Are you ready for this Loki episode 6 breakdown?
The opening Marvel Studios logo scroll was packed with audio from films spanning the entire MCU. This was a bit of foreshadowing. By the end of the episode what is real and what isn’t may be up for debate. Not only did we hear MCU quotes but also ones from our own world. Marvel is saying hey we are all part of this multiverse and things are about to get a bit mad.
Speaking of madness, Miss Minutes popping up like that with her crazy eyes = stuff of nightmares. For everyone who thought she was cute and sweet, good luck sleeping tonight.
Let’s get to the good stuff. KANG. The second Jonathan Majors appeared in that elevator we cheered. After the Mephisto business and Power Broker, there were some doubts they would actually reveal Kang. But holy Hela they brought him out, Immortus style, and Majors killed it. We cannot wait to see more of his variants down the road.
Despite him lying about some things, he actually wasn’t lying about the consequences of taking him out. Sylvie didn’t want to listen to him and decided attacking him was the best option. Loki tried to stop her and reason with her. But unfortunately, she doesn’t trust anyone and he isn’t trustworthy. The kiss heard round the multiverse happens and Sylvie betrays Loki, shoving him back through a time door to the TVA.
She kills Kang, but exactly what he said would happen happens. The timeline explodes and a war is coming. Kang The Conqueror has officially taken over. Heartbroken Loki runs into his friend Mobius who doesn’t recognize him.
Loki Episode 3 was incredible, but it seems like Marvel pulled out all the stops with this episode. Our minds are officially blown. Once again, this is another episode of “I told you so,” with several confirmations of theories we had early on. However, we’re still, “WOW,” to use one of Owen Wilson’s favorite phrases. Are you ready for this Loki episode 4 breakdown?
Episode 4 of Loki begins with Sylvie as a child on Asgard, playing in the Throne Room, when the TVA shows up to arrest her for crimes against the sacred timeline.
Renslayer is the Hunter who brings her in. Sylvie escapes the TVA during her hearing by stealing Renslayer’s TemPad and disappearing to some other place on the timeline.
Renslayer reveals to Mobius that the hostage C-20 is dead and theTime-Keepers are upset at how close Sylvie got to them; she orders Mobius to find the variants ASAP.
Back on Lamentis-1, the world is ending. Sylvie tells Loki, “The universe wants to break free, so it manifests chaos. Like me being born the Goddess of Mischief.”
She tells him how the TVA took her as a child prisoner but she escaped. Everywhere she went, she created a Nexus Event that signaled the TVA.
Loki and Sylvie are comforting each other in the last moments before Lamentis is completely destroyed, and it creates a timeline branch so strong it not only shows up on the TVA monitor, but it practically shoots straight up. Mobius arrives on Lamentis and takes the duo into custody.
Just as Mobius is about to send Loki through a Time Cell, Loki tells him the TVA is lying.
The Time Cell sends Loki to Asgard, where he sees Lady Sif, and he’s stuck in a time loop at a moment where he has apparently cut part of Sif’s hair in a prank. Because it’s a time loop, when Loki tries to reason with Sif and get her to help him, she just kicks his butt…repeatedly.
This moment is based on a story in Norse Mythology, not based on a scene we have seen in the MCU. Lady Sif, the wife of Thor, has her hair cut off by Loki. Thor threatens him until he can fix it. However, in the MCU, Sif needs no help from Thor.
Mobius retrieves Loki out of the Time Cell to determine the cause of the Nexus Event on Lamentis. Loki denies everything before deciding to tell him an elaborate made-up story. Mobius casually mentions Sylvie is dead to see Loki’s reaction; he seems taken aback before he dons his uncaring Loki mask he wears so well.
That brief look was all it took for Mobius to figure out it was two variants falling for one another that caused the spike in the timeline. Sylvie and Loki have feelings for each other and that kind of thing can cause pure chaos that breaks reality.
Loki tries again to implore Mobius that the Time-Keepers kidnapped all the TVA peeps from the timeline, the entire TVA is comprised of Variants, and their memories have been erased–memories which Sylvie can access through enchantment.
In Renslayer’s office, she signs off on Mobius’ paperwork and he asks why she wouldn’t let him interrogate Sylvie. She claims to be protecting him. She then asks him if he could go anywhere and anytime where would it be? He never answers. He continues to ask about Hunter C-20 and you can tell he doesn’t believe a word out of her mouth.
TL;DR
Hunter B-15 took Sylvie back to Roxxcart to find out more about the memories she has after being enchanted. She’s ready to take down the TVA, too.
Mobius swapped TemPads with Renslayer when she wasn’t looking at knows C-20 remembers her whole life previous to the TVA–and Renslayer does, too.
Mobius tells Loki that he knows he was telling the truth about the TVA, and he wants to help Loki and Sylvie bring it down.
WOW moment 1: Renslayer stops Mobius in the hallway and PRUNES MOBIUS. She takes the variants up the elevator to stand before the Time-Keepers.
Hunter B-15 releases both variants from their collars.
Mother forking shirtballs.
A cosmic fight ensues. Sylvie vs Renslayer, Loki vs the Hunters. Sylvie throws her sword, lobs off the head of a Time-Keeper to find it’s a robot. So very Wizard of Oz-like.
Loki attempts to tells Sylvie about his feelings for her…it’s Loki, this is new territory.
WOW moment 2: Renslayer PRUNES LOKI from behind while he’s professing his love to Sylvie.
Sylvie isn’t playing and wants to know ALL ABOUT THE TVA from Renslayer.

Welcome back to the Geek Girls’ Universe for The Weekly Bugle Vol 27. This week we finally get to share our interview takeaways from the Bad Batch press junket and Marvel dropped a pretty sweet surprise.
The Bad Batch debuts tomorrow and we had the chance to interview the star, the man behind the Clones – Dee Bradley Baker. We also heard from Jennifer Corbett and Brad Rau who write and produce for the show. They shared some fun facts about the show as well as a look into what it took to bring the Batch to life.
Want to know who Dee’s favorite clone is? You’ll have to listen to find out!
Marvel Phase 4 Announcements
Marvel Studios dropped a new sizzle reel and after we got through our emotions hearing Stan Lee narrate we got super excited. Not only did we get a glimpse into the long awaiting Eternals, but Marvel also confirmed some titles for future MCU films.
Captain Marvel 2 will be The Marvels. With the emphasis on the S, we have some theories on what that means. Black Panther 2 is Wakanda Forever. Fitting, especially since we lost Chadwick Boseman last year. And finally, Fantastic 4 is confirmed.
And speaking of Marvel. Set photos revealed a first look at Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, and Echo. We are loving how the Phase 4 suits are on point! Comic book fans rejoice.
If you are unfamiliar with Echo, she is a superheroine who is skilled in martial arts, acrobatics, and has photographic reflexes. She is also one of the few Marvel characters who is deaf. In the comics, she has ties to Moon Knight, Daredevil, Secret Invasion, and more. She at one time used the mantle of Ronin (which Hawkeye was using in Avengers Endgame). She eventually passed that to Hawkeye.

Welcome back to the Geek Girls’ Universe for The Weekly Bugle Vol 22. This week we are talking about the latest Marvel Phase 4 news including a fan favorite’s possible return, a stupid expensive nerd watch, Spidey set leaks, and more.
It’s another week so that means more Spider-Man No Way Home rumors right? Right! Marvel Studios also released new dates for their upcoming films and shows. Plus someone was spotted with the stars of Love and Thunder. Click here for our Falcon and Winter Soldier Episode 2 Breakdown!
Jeff Goldblum Returning For Thor Love and Thunder?
Now it’s not unusual to take in a Rugby game with your friends, we do find it a little suspicious that he is in Australia right now. And with Taika and Chris Hemsworth who are filming Thor Love and Thunder.
The last time we saw the Grandmaster, he was alive. And unless Marvel shows us someone is dead dead, they can always return.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – September 3
Eternals – Nov 5
Spider-Man No Way Home – December 17
Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness – March 2022
Thor Love and Thunder – May 2022
Black Panther 2 – July 7, 2022
Captain Marvel 2 – Nov 2022
GOTG Holiday Special – Late 2022
Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantamonium and Captain Marvel 2 are slated to start filming in May. We are looking forward to both of these. Especially with the introduction of Kang the Conqueror.
Spider-Man No Way Home officially wrapped on filming so we though the leaks might stop. However, two new leaks/rumors have surfaced. The first is more evidence that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man is in this film. Last week we talked about his stunt double posting a picture allegedly from the set. This week the wrap gifts for the crew supposedly included a shirt with Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man on it. You can see it in the link below.

Also Elizabeth Henstridge aka Simmons from Agents of Shield was spotted leaving Atlanta the day after No Way Home wrapped. Could Simmons have been called in to consult on the multiverse? Maybe Fury decided she needed to come help.
SPECULATION: Elizabeth Henstridge (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) has been spotted leaving Atlanta the day after NO WAY HOME concluded production.

Kross Studios Deathstar Watch
If you have 150,000 you too could own the most ridiculous yet awesome watch on the planet. Kross Studios created a Deathstar watch that is more of an experience than just a watch. You can see it in all its glory here.
The Suicide Squad Trailer
The Suicide Squad dropped its first trailer and we have some thoughts. It actually doesn’t look bad. However, we are afraid they may have shown all the best parts in the trailer. What did you think?
Man From U.N.C.L.E. 2
Henry Cavill is rumored to return, while Armie Hammer needs to be replaced obviously. Some fans think Oliver Jackson Cohen would be perfect for that role. We had another suggestion, which if you know us at all is not a surprise in the least.
Hey friends! Welcome to this weeks The Weekly Bugle Vol 2. We have a lot to discuss including the premiere of Baby Yoda Season 2… I mean The Mandalorian Season 2, Helstrom, Ant-Man 3, and more!
The Weekly Bugle Vol 2
Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Season 2 Episode One The Marshal or Helstrom.
The Mandalorian Season 2 The Marshal
There were a lot of Easter eggs hiding in this episode and it ends with a pretty big surprise–Boba Fett! Earlier in the episode we see Cobb Vanth wearing Boba Fett’s armor which had fans anticipating some information on the original Star Wars Mandalorian.
We didn’t have to wait long. At the very end of the episode, a man is seen watching from a sand dune. It is revealed to be Temuera Morrison, who played Jango Fettin Star Wars Attack of the Clones. He has also voiced Boba Fett in the past. Boba is a clone of Jango… Boba survived the Sarlacc Pit.
One of our second favorite Easter Eggs was actually a pearl, a Krayt Dragon pearl to be exact. Not only are the pearls highly valuable some can also contain Kyber Crystals, which as you know are needed to power lightsabers.
Helstrom, a Marvel TV show on Hulu, is about Daimon and Ana Helstrom, two half-demon half-human reluctant superheroes who are trying to save the world from their father and his kind. Their father isn’t your run-of-the-mill demon either, he just so happens to be Satan himself.
The show has quickly become a favorite of ours with its witty dialogue and great action scenes. It’s the kind of rare show that gets the point without sacrificing plot points or character development. It is dark and rated MA so definitely not one for the kids.
Speaking of dark, we’ve been called cold-blooded for our assessment of how a certain thing was treated in the show, but hey, it’s a demon, and you gotta do what you gotta do.
With Daimon’s comic book ties to Ghost Rider, Blade, The Winter Soldier, and more, we are hoping Ana and Daimon come to the MCU and bring their fiery personalities (pun intended) with them.
Ghost Rider
Speaking of Ghost Rider, talks have resumed in the fandom world about who should play him. Some say Nicolas Cage, others Gabriel Luna who played him in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, and then there is Keanu Reeves.
Whether it is Ghost Rider or Deacon Frost, or someone else yet to be named, we hope to see Keanu join the MCU.
Ant-Man 3
According to the official Marvel website, Scott Lang’s stint in the Quantum Realm is a story for another time. This could mean a flashback scene either at the beginning of Ant-Man 3, or as a post-credit in Black Widow, The Multiverse of Madness, or some other upcoming Marvel Phase 4 offering.
With Kang the Conqueror being the baddie for this one and time travel his thing, this could be how they show Kang has been lurking in the QR for a while now, just waiting to strike.
James Gunn
In other fandom news, James Gunn in a recent interview said that a Superman movie was on the table before he went with Suicide Squad. We don’t know about you but Henry deserves his own movie or the be released to come to the MCU.
He even shared that Kevin Feige knows who the villain is for Suicide Squad. We know that man can keep a secret!
Also, Amy Adams’ Lois Lane joins the Natalie Portman Jane Foster list for us.
It’s been a week of 90s news. From Animaniacs and Tiny Toons, to The Power Rangers and Saved By The Bell, a lot of our favorites are coming back to TV.
TBH we only care about Saved By The Bell because they have the original cast- smart move! We also can’t even say the word Animaniacs without singing the theme song.
Maybe the 90s will save us from 2020?
Songbird
Or maybe the 90s can at least save us from this mess.
Songbird is a big fat N-O. No. Negative. Nope. Michael Bay needs to read the room, nay the universe. No one, I repeat NO ONE wants a flipping film about dealing with Covid. NO. ONE.

Hey friends! For several years now we have hosted a weekly Twitter Chat called #MarvelMondays. We decided to take all the awesome news we share there and bring it here to the podcast.
The Weekly Bugle Vol 1
Unlike Marvel Mondays, The Weekly Bugle will feature the latest and greatest in all fandom news, not just Marvel. Without further ado, here is The Weekly Bugle Vol 1.
According to an opinion piece from Screenrant and chatter online, fans have been debating what Thor’s phase 4 arc should be. Some argue that Thor should become the leader of The Avengers while others are leaning towards Captain Marvel.
There are pros and cons to Thor taking the lead and while it makes sense in his story, it also doesn’t. The man, er God, has spent a lot of time and dialogue not being a ruler. But as long as it doesn’t mean Natalie Portman’s Jane takes over we are okay with whatever direction Taika and the MCU is taking Thor.
Shang-Chi and The Eternals are two films we heard announced, got little tidbits for, and then thanks to 2020 it has been radio silence ever since. However, Shang-Chi has wrapped on filming which has everyone speculating when we could see Simu make his debut in costume.
There’s nothing like the feeling of proving the haters wrong so imma save this one for nine months.
Keep doing you in the meantime my dude, and I’ll keep doing me. By which I mean plowing into this box of Tim Tams like it’s the vaccine. #WRAPThoughtshttps://t.co/tSDTPoBdRR
Shang-Chi Teaser in January with a full trailer to come with Black Widow. That of course is if everything stays the course and we have no further derailments to our precious timeline.
WandaVision
Although we have been wandering the desert of no Marvel, there is an oasis on the horizon. WandaVision is coming this December and the trailer offered so many clues as to what maybe coming down the line for Phase 4.
Including a possible hint at the future of a character in Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Falcon and The Winter Soldier: US Agent will be called Captain America
Minor spoiler for those who have no read the comics or watched any interviews, US Agent will be using the title Captain America at the start of Falcon and The Winter Soldier. In the comics Wyatt takes the mantle when the government deemed Fury to old and Sam Wilson not the right color. Wyatt was already a government agent and begrudgingly took over as Cap for awhile.
US Agent eventually joins up with other superhero teams including the Thunderbolts and the Dark Avengers. Which is interesting due to the Dark Avengers Easter egg in the WandaVision trailer.
“LITTLE BABY JUNE’S FIRST WORD TICKLES MOTHER”
This is the headline on the newspaper Vision is holding. In the comic books June Covington is a part of the Dark Avengers, using the alias Scarlet Witch.
If you’re curious to see more of Ashley’s trailer breakdown go here:
Finally, the Uncharted film is being made and Tom Holland shared a photo of him as Drake on set. We haven’t played the game before but all video game adaptations make us nervous.
The problem with video game adaptations is they are either excellent or garbage. We are hoping for the former for Tom. One thing that is never garbage? Tom Holland.
Speaking of our favorite Spider-Man, Tom Holland has been spotted in Georgia and posted that he has received the script for Spider-Man 3. He says he won’t spill anything because he has learned his lesson but it’s Tom so we think we will get a little something.
Breaking News: Moon Knight
Rumor has it that Oscar Issac is in talks to play Marc Spector in Moon Knight! Major outlets are reporting this news and although he will most likely deny it, we know how those denials usually go. *cough* Paul Rudd *cough*
