House of Ninjas Director Dave Boyle Interview

Dave was brought in to direct and write the show bible for House of Ninjas, a project that star Kento Kaku had put together. When Dave was approached with the project, as soon as they mentioned ninjas he was in. And we agreed, how can you say no to a ninja show?

What it was like working with Kento to bring the show to life: “I just got a call out of the blue, I guess, three years ago from my friend who’d worked at Netflix. He just asked me “Hey, you, like ninjas?” And I was like, Yeah. I mean, who doesn’t like ninjas? And he told me that Kento had brought this project to them, this concept, and they were looking for a take on it…I pitched some ideas for it [and] they decided to have me write the show bible. I did that. And then the next thing I knew, they were moving ahead with it. Now, me directing was still sort of an open question…But then it was Kento, who sort of really pushed for [it]…So yeah, I love the guy.”

The season ends with a big reveal. So you know we had to see if we could learn anything about the possibility of a second season. Spoiler alert- if you want it to happen BINGE BINGE BINGE. And then tell your friends to do the same!

Listen, it was hard to stop gushing about all the reasons we enjoyed Blue Eye Samurai. This show feels like something adult fans of anime have been waiting for. From its beautiful animation that contrasts the beauty with the brutal to the intriguing story and interesting characters. It really does check off all the boxes of what adult animation should be.

Most importantly, we all agree that we need at least one or two more seasons. There is still more to this story, and we need to know what happens next. Mizu’s body count still has space to rise. So grab all your anime-loving friends and watch it when it drops on Netflix November 3.

This film marks Wendy’s directorial debut. With her visual effects background, we had to know more about her approach to directing this. Did her background in effects inform her directing? The answer lies in who she is as a person. Adapting books for the screen can be difficult. Julia shared what they had to cut from the book for the film. Despite some missing characters, this film was truly beautiful. It managed to capture the magic of the book, which at the end of the day is what is important.

Interview with Adam Santelli for 13 The Musical

So what is it specifically about musicals and music videos that interests you most as a creative?

Adam: I’ve always been involved in music ever since I was a kid. I am the MTV generation, I was there when there were two videos on MTV. Basically spent most of my time watching MTV through middle school and high school.

I just remember my mom always going, what are you going to do with your life? I’m like, I’m gonna make music videos. And so that’s kind of where it all started, because of that, it just was an easy transition into musicals. And I’m a big musical fan. So a big Broadway fan.

Let’s talk about 13: The Musical and what made you want to work on this project? Did you come across challenges when adapting the stage play and book into the film?

Adam: I’m a big Tamra Davis fan, just that alone kind of got me excited about the project. But then when I read the script and started doing the research, I was like, I have to do it. We’ve all been there and we’ve all had those problems. So in a sense it was one of those kind of projects [and] all the stars have aligned.

The choreographer, Jamal, I know very well, from Descendents 3. It was just a great coming together of people I’ve always wanted to work with, or people I have been wanting to get back together with.

To make matters worse, Evan invites the popular kids to his party—who aren’t fans of Patrice. Interview With Kevin James

Kevin James stars as Sean Payton, the Super Bowl-winning, former coach of the New Orleans Saints in the new Netflix film, Home Team. It is based on the true story of the greatest season of Payton’s life, coaching his son’s football team to the championship. But it wasn’t an easy road to the big game. First, he had to reconnect with his son and then help the team learn to work together.

We recently chatted with Kevin about the film and what it meant to step into the shoes of Sean Payton. Not only did he get to embody the coach but he also got to work with him. Sean Payton has a small cameo at the end of the film. Apparently, Payton himself is a funny guy. Who knew?

As football fans we asked the most important question of all, did he actually get to touch the real Vince Lombardi Trophy? You will have to listen to find out. This film also features a cast packed with comedy titans. Any improv that was happening definitely came from Schneider according to Kevin.

Home Team is rated PG for crude material, language, and some suggestive references with a runtime of 95 minutes.
